Diagnóstico e propostas de melhoria da eficiência energética da central Txicumina I em Saurimo

Abstract

This article presents a diagnosis of the energy efficiency of the Txicumina I power plant, located in the city of Saurimo, Angola. The plant, which uses diesel as an energy source, faces significant challenges in terms of fuel consumption, high operating costs and emissions of polluting gases. Through a detailed analysis of the fuel production-consumption relationship, significant inefficiencies in plant operations were identified, derived mainly from old equipment, insufficient maintenance and lack of adequate monitoring. The diagnosis included a review of historical operating data and interviews with former factory workers, which made it possible to identify critical areas that affect energy performance. Based on the results obtained, various technological and operational improvements are proposed to optimize the efficiency of the plant. Among the suggested measures are the modernization of the generating equipment, the implementation of a preventive maintenance plan and the adoption of real-time monitoring technologies to control fuel consumption and energy production. These proposals aim to reduce operational costs, improve the energy performance of the plant and mitigate its environmental impact. Also, the importance of these melodies is highlighted in the context of sustainable energy development in the Saurimo region. This study contributes to the discussion on the need for optimization of energy efficiency in thermoelectric plants in Angola.
