The article shares research results to obtain a master's degree. The dissertation evaluates the sustainability of three biomass variants in the combustion process for biomass proposals in the Comuna Mona Quimbundo in the municipality of Saurimo with the fundamental application of the emergy method, taking into account the procedure in which the prototype to be developed can be installed in each of the 56 villages to supply them with electricity using Landfill technology. The emergy analysis determined that the most suitable alternative for converting biomass into energy is that of rice residues, which results in emergy indicators being a renewability ratio, and emergy efficiency which indicate that the process moderately exploits resources. local natural resources. On the other hand, the environmental impact is not as great compared to other processes and the existing impact must be valued taking into account neighboring areas. In addition to the above, the emergy sustainability index indicates that in the long term the system is sustainable in itself. On the other hand, the variant presented a high energy efficiency using the direct method and shows a moderate exergy efficiency. The results obtained allow us to have better criteria for subsequent decision-making, which will help the economic development of the Commune through the production of electricity from these biomasses.
