Abstract

The teaching-learning process of Cuban History takes on particular relevance in the Mining Engineering program. This program aims to graduate a mining engineer with a broad range of skills, scientifically and technically qualified to carry out rational exploitation of mineral resources. Changes are very rapid, and education must facilitate students' adaptation to them. To this end, the use of a virtual learning environment (VLE) can be a very useful tool. Knowledge of history is an essential source for instilling ideas, navigating today's world, guiding new generations, and learning about past experiences. This research focuses on first-year students in the program under study. Using techniques and methods employed in pedagogical sciences, a didactic concept based on a methodology that fosters motivation for learning Cuban history through digital tools such as Virtual Learning Environments (VLEs) is proposed.
