Abstract

At any educational level, assessment has always had a palpable impact on teaching. Its conception, its guiding purposes, and its practices have significant repercussions on each students learning process and on the educational process in general. It has a regulatory and guiding nature that favors decision-making in educational programs through the result obtained. Knowing its functions and principles will form the foundation for its development. Mastery of these academic terms will make professional medical training and its training process a benchmark to follow. Knowledge of these tools in the Cuban medical community will ensure better prepared and comprehensively trained professional to face and resolve needs in any scenario where their role as a physician is essential. Therefore, using educational assessment and its modalities in their training process is an ideal and well-founded strategy.
