Sistematizar el vocabulario en inglés en estudiantes de 10mo grado del Pre Universitario "Andrés Cuevas”

Vocabulary is both a longing and a goal in language learning for many learners. Vocabulary is the set of words a person masters or uses in everyday conversations, pertaining to the use of a region, a specific activity, or a given semantic field. Therefore, language teachers and linguists have emphasized their teaching. Students from group 3, 10th grade at Pre- University "Andrés Cuevas" have difficulties in English vocabulary, lack of vocabulary to communicate. Vocabulary is necessary to express meaning and utilize receptive (listening and reading) and productive (speaking and writing) skills. The main objective is to build up a proposal of activities to systematize English vocabulary in tenth-grade students in Pre-University "Andrés Cuevas". To address this objective, a qualitative methodology was used, specifically the action research design. The following scientific methods were used, analytic-synthetic, historical-logical, inductive deductive, system approach, document analysis, observation (participant) analysis of students´ outcome, in-depth-interview, document compilation and triangulation. A comprehensive review of the existing literature on vocabulary teaching and its importance in learning English was conducted. The author designed activities taking advantage of the new trends that stimulate students` thinking and creativity. This research assumes that appropriate use of vocabulary in English is a highly relevant tool in the education of high school students, as it lets them face the challenges of globalized education easier.
