Communication in higher education has undergone significant transformations in recent years, driven by technological advances, changes in student expectations, and the need to measure skills beyond academic knowledge. Learning is the process by which individuals acquire, modify, or reinforce knowledge, skills, attitudes, or values through experience, practice, or teaching. This process can occur in various ways and contexts and can be classified into several categories. With this article, the author aims to deepe into the English language teaching-learning process of undergraduate medical students. Therefore, the objective is to develop communicative tasks to foster communication in these students. To this end, methods and techniques based on the dialectical materialist method were used, such as: historical-logical, analytical-synthetic, documentary study, observation, surveys, and interviews. The proposal highlights new approaches and emerging trends that are changing the way student learning is assessed, achieving creative and autonomous learning.
