Abstract

Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) is not only about the subject. It involves many spheres that participate in the sustainability of society. With it and its constant development, it is proposed to strengthen the teaching-learning process, encourage the development of the research associated with the subject, carry out outreach tasks and provide services adapting to the possible alternatives for the sake of sustainable development. What happends in society is discovered and it is intervened in, improving and enhancing the ability to learn to learn. Spaces are created from where methodological practices of educational innovation and implemented to promote knowledge management, creativity, collaborative practices and the search for solutions to common problems. The Cuban Health system is not exempt from this, so knowing the ways to carry out is also part of the daily work of the sector. Professionals in their improvement process also put it into practice, through the creation of research that reflects and solves the real problems that society presents. In this way, innovative pedagogical strategies have been developed and implemented, capable of incorporating and instituting the comprehensive approach that it requires. Medical universities must conceive and design sustainable system models to meet the objectives of the 2023 Agenda.
